Gold teams will be formed through the June try-outs, and each Gold team will have an Age Group Coordinator (AGC) and staff of trainers (AGT's). The group will collectively cover training, league games and tournaments. Using a collective training approach to coaching, all of the coaches will have a hand in training the respective teams and the players will benefit from a consistent curriculum expressed through different coaching styles. The Gold teams will be exposed to periodic training from the AGC, with the bulk of the training and game coverage coming from AGT's. Gold teams will train 2 times per week based on a seasonal plan.
The OFC will provide gold teams with year round training facilities. In addition to seasonal training the Gold player will participate in winter training at one of the OFC official training centers: one session per week for 8 weeks at 60 minutes per session for U11-U12, 90 minutes for U13 and above. The winter training program will address technical improvement and tactical training within small sided games.
Gold teams will participate in the Nebraska Soccer League (NSL), premier and division 1.
Optional Package:
Gold players are highly encouraged to participate in the Xplosive Edge program in parallel with soccer training. Its advanced approach to strength, speed training, and injury prevention is a wonderful compliment to good soccer training. For more information please visit www.XplosiveEdge.com
Additional Gold program opportunities:
Tournaments:
Across the board we'll limit teams to no more than 2 tournaments per season without the approval of the club DOC. The AGC will evaluate each Gold team and make tournament decisions based on the strength of the team, financial conditions, and competitive needs. We recommend that gold teams attend mostly local tournaments and the occasional out of town tournament.
